Drug and alcohol addiction significantly impacts mental and emotional health.

It can change an individual’s normal desires, priorities, and behavior. Addiction also interferes with the ability to work, go to school, and have good relationships with friends and family.

IBH Addiction Recovery offers mental health services in tandem with the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. IBH Addiction Recovery counselors are trained in mental and emotional health and incorporate emotional wellness in the treatment process. For residential clients who have a specific mental health diagnosis, IBH Addiction Recovery has an on-staff psychiatrist who provides treatment, as well as medication and counseling, when necessary.

The most commonly identified co-occurring mental health disorders include:

  • Anxiety
  • Bi-Polar Disorder
  • Depression
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

A person may arrive at IBH Addiction Recovery already with a mental health diagnosis or it may be identified at admission during the assessment process.

All IBH Addiction Recovery mental health services are individualized with treatment tailored to a client’s specific needs. While residential clients typically receive mental health services once a week, those with a co-occurring diagnosis or whose symptoms may be creating barriers toward recovery may be seen twice a week or more.

IBH Addiction Recovery will continue to further develop mental health services as client needs are identified and evolve.
