October 2015 marks the 45th Anniversary of IBH Addiction Recovery Center. More than 16,000 have entered the doors of IBH in hopes of healing and recovery from the ravages of drug and alcohol addictions. They come from all walks of life. They are men and women, young and old, black and white because addiction is a disease that knows no boundaries.
Over 45 years, one thing has remained the same. IBH remains a residential treatment facility, where every client is welcomed without judgement or bias. Rooted in the 12-steps of AA, IBH continues to offer a safe place where someone suffering from addiction can acquire the tools they need to prepare oneself with a meaningful and spiritual foundation in sobriety.
IBH Addiction Recovery Center still exists 45 years later because of the hundreds of men and women who selflessly gave their time and talents to build IBH into a first class facility. It continues to exist because of the dedicated staff that passionately believes in every human being and his or her right to achieve a sober life. It continues to exist because of the ongoing support of the County of Summit ADM Board, City of Akron, and numerous foundations, funders and private donors. For those of you that have been a part of IBH over the past 45 years, we thank you.
